Your Child's Vaccination Schedule in Pakistan (EPI): A Parent's Guide

Vaccinations are one of the most important things you can do to protect your child's health. In Pakistan, the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) sets out which vaccines your child needs and when. This parent-friendly guide from One PolyClinic explains the essentials.

Why Vaccination Matters

Vaccines protect children from serious, sometimes life-threatening diseases like polio, measles, tuberculosis and whooping cough. Getting them on time gives your child the strongest protection during the years they are most vulnerable.

The EPI Schedule at a Glance

  • At birth: BCG and the first polio (OPV) drops.
  • 6, 10 and 14 weeks: Pentavalent, polio and pneumococcal (PCV) vaccines.
  • 9 months: First measles vaccine.
  • 15 months: Second measles vaccine.

Your pediatrician will confirm the exact schedule for your child and adjust it if any doses were missed.

What to Expect After a Vaccine

Mild fever, slight swelling or fussiness for a day or two is normal. Give plenty of fluids and comfort. Contact your doctor if the fever is high or your child seems unwell.

Never Too Late to Catch Up

If your child has missed a vaccine, don't worry — a catch-up schedule can be arranged. The important thing is to start as soon as possible.

At One PolyClinic, Lahore, our Pediatrician provides EPI vaccinations, growth check-ups and friendly guidance for parents. Bring your child's vaccination card and we'll take care of the rest.
